This kind of battle is exactly what we don't want on HN, and the fact that people can't stop themselves from having them is the very reason why we can't often have discussions about politics on HN. HN is for curious conversation, not this, and the only reason anyone thinks HN is a place for having good discussions is because others make the effort to raise the standards rather than drag them down.
