That's the disconnect between reality; that politics is "unclean", "uncivilized", far removed, and doesn't matter; that people can't have respectful exchanges of ideas and need to be controlled like children, or that discussion needs to have somewhere else more "appropriate": which is all code for "STFU and take it because the status quo benefits us". Avoiding the 800 lbs. gorilla that's hurting you, the ones you love, and brainwashing others into doing their work for them is tone deaf and on the wrong side of history that paints all of tech as sinister and morally bankrupt.
