- squigz 9mo agohttps://annas-archive.li/datasets/oclc https://annas-archive.li/datasets/oclc
- motbus3 9mo agoWeird enough, they never asked Anthropic or Meta to do the same and restart the model training from scratch
- gruez 9mo agoBecause Anthropic and Meta had lawyers, and Anna's Archive didn't even show up, so worldcat go whatever it demanded.
- littlestymaar 9mo agoI'm glad Anna's Archive, like sci-hub before, is hosted in the free world (A.K.A. the former Eastern block) so it can escape copyreich oppression and allow us all to access human knowledge and culture.
- LarsKrimi 9mo ago> Judge Michael Watson in US District Court for the Southern District of Ohio A US judge.. Oh no. Prepare for tarriffs and invasion Anna! It sounds like it's just metadata they scraped anyway?
- Sabinus 9mo agoRemember to donate if you use and appreciate the archive. They're running reasonable risks to defy US copyright.
- Kim_Bruning 9mo agoIt's modern Samizdat[1] , isn't it? I think it's a bit amazing and a bit embarrassing that western culture is being kept out of a kind of dark ages[2] by ex soviets, of all people. [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samizdat https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samizdat [2] In the very practical sense that certain texts end up lost because they're copyrighted but no one re-publishes them on time, so few or no copies remain in practice.
