Drawbot: Let's hack something cute (2025)
- Antibabelic 11mo agoThis thing is basically a small pen plotter for kids. Would love to see it do a more complicated design.
- jdboyd 9mo agoYou just know the next version will probably get voice recognition and some connection to an LLM to generate line drawings for it too then place on paper. I think it would be cool to have a variant built that included some sort of turtle graphic system. Or maybe a voice controlled logo language?
- dang 9mo ago(Sorry for the offtopicness: this is a re-spawn of notmine1337's earlier post https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=45925665 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=45925665, which was too old to re-up directly. Normally we'd email a repost invite for these (see https://news.ycombinator.com/invited https://news.ycombinator.com/invited) but I was unable to do that in this case. I hope this is ok!)
- McAdam 9mo agosuper cool teardown
- ctchocula 9mo agoThis reminded me of those booths they have at company holiday parties where they take a photo of you, convert it to a line drawing and have the robot draw it out for you to keep. Very cool hack!
