I've worked at places who wouldn't hire you if you could answer these questions. They had specific "we don't hire anybody who would get a PhD" policies because they didn't want you "in your head" all day.
Those "companies" failed.
- shrughes 14y agoThese aren't PhD-level questions.
- WhatsACamelToe 14y ago... What? Out of curiosity, and of course without revealing info on your identity and past employers, could you please provide a bit more info on the thought-train of these people? What kind of products/services did they make? Why would they choose that kind of strategy?
- jiggy2011 14y agoThat seems a very odd strategy, it's basically saying "we don't want to hire anybody who is smart". I can understand wanting to hire people who know how to solve problems over people who can regurgitate the algorithms textbook on cue. OTOH most of the questions here really aren't PhD level at all, they are typical of what I would expect on a sophomore level undergrad CS exam.
