I’ve noticed a gradual increase in my annoyance with technology over the last couple of years. A lot of things now just feel irritating and not-quite-right.
Eg on my iPhone filling in a password sometime is kinda blanks the screen while I’m trying to fill the password in.
My keyboard is absolutely terrible.
Lots of other little annoyances I can’t remember right now.
This window thing is another good example of just not enough thought being put into things.
- morshu9001 9mo agoI swear Apple broke the iPhone keyboard permanently in like 2015. I don't know what it is, but I can't type reliably on any newer phone I've had, to the point where I call instead of texting. And the rare times I go back to use that iPhone 5 in my car for music, it's so easy to type, so I'm not just remembering wrongly.
- jonplackett 9mo agoAnd those screens were TINY so how can it now be worse? I think one of the big issues is the autocorrect seems to make as many correctly typed words into random bullshit words as it does typos into correct words. So you feel like you’re walking on ice, just constantly monitoring what you last typed to make sure it didn’t make it into nonsense.
- morshu9001 9mo agoThe old autocorrect didn't seem any better though. I actually disabled it on both, so narrowed it down to purely a keyboard issue.
- layer8 9mo agoThe keyboard is still bad when you turn off autocorrect.
