I'd be interested in learning more about your workflow. I've certainly used plaintext files (and similar such things) to aid in project planning, but I've never used paper beyond taking a few notes here and there.
- sevensor 9mo agoNot who you’re replying to, but I do this as well. I carry a pocket notebook and write paragraphs describing what I want to write. Sometimes I list out the fields of a data structure. Then I revise. By the time I actually write the code, it’s more like a recitation. This is so much easier than trying to think hard about program structure while logged in to my work computer with all the messaging and email.
- hackable_sand 9mo agoYes this is my technique as well. Others have different prerogatives, but I personally do not want to work more than I need to.
