I wonder if the eradication of the heroin supply from Afghanistan following the Taliban takeover has had an effect? Possibly re-directed some of the fentanyl to other markets where addicts could no longer get heroin? Thus reducing supply elsewhere?

At least in Europe the heroin gap was mostly filled with crack from Latin America.
