Flint Confirms Biodegradable Paper Batteries Are Now in Production
- kreelman 9mo agoThese look very good. I'd be interested to find out how biodegradable the non-paper parts are... Has any thought been given to what happens if a kid swallows one of these batteries? I'm wondering if they're better or worse than swallowing a typical tiny cell battery.
- Neywiny 9mo agoSadly we'll need to wait for independent studies. Too many companies claim bio degradability when they barely break down when buried for a long time. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SxUkMG2Io4w https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SxUkMG2Io4w shows the greenwashing.
- IAmBroom 9mo agoBy your theory, hot dogs aren't biodegradable.
- Neywiny 9mo agoAccording to this which links to a dead link, they've found a decades old hotdog in a landfill. So. Yes, I'm saying hot dogs aren't biodegradable. https://blogs.ubc.ca/waltergage/2013/11/19/547/ https://blogs.ubc.ca/waltergage/2013/11/19/547/

- eternityforest 9mo agoSodium ion showed up a year or two ago and you can buy them on Amazon as 12v lead acid replacements, 18650s are also available but the voltage range is different from normal lithium.

- ravetcofx 9mo agoThis is clickbait greenwashing imo, if you click-through the website, they still use Zinc and Magnesium for the chemistry/electrodes which isn't much different than lithium. They also claim these metals are natural as they're found in our food and bodies... well so is lithium to some extent.
- xorbax 9mo ago...did you expect an electrolyte-free battery entirely made of paper and nothing else?
