- amanaplanacanal 10mo agoIs pretty clear that eating cholesterol doesn't lead to higher blood cholesterol. It just doesn't matter.
- tonyedgecombe 10mo agoFrom ://nutritionfacts.org/video/dietary-guidelines-eat-as-little-dietary-cholesterol-as-possible/ "Most studies regarding cholesterol are bought and paid for by the egg industry. "
- addisonl 10mo agoIts actually not "pretty clear"—about 25-30% of people are hyper responders who are impacted by dietary cholesterol.
- stevenwoo 10mo agoYou wouldn’t happen to know the specific genetic markers for this, it’s the only thing I’d like to know about myself so I could eat eggs guilt free. A cursory search keeps giving me not the results I want to see.
- azakai 10mo agoNo, doctors still recommend limiting the intake of cholesterol in food, and also saturated fat. - bsder 10mo agoThe problem is that when people say "red meat" they're almost always referring to the modern "hamburger-like substance" which almost certainly high on the ultra-processed scale. An actual steak or hamburger ground at a butcher would be a pretty gigantic step up for most people.
- 303uru 10mo agoYour colon doesn't care how expensive the beef was.
- bsder 10mo agoThe whole thrust of modern nutritional research is to prove that your statement is wrong. For example, a steak is better than pastrami. This is the point of not eating "ultra-processed" food.
- dyauspitr 10mo agoNo it’s just the contents of regular red meat. But there’s also a genetic component to it. Some people are more negatively affected than others.
