Yup. Bangladesh’s government was toppled last year. With at least the tacit support of the Biden administration. Now the formerly banned Islamist is running #2 in the polls and looks like they will be part of a coalition government.
- sigwinch 10mo agoI’m not sure we can compare US involvement between Venezuela and Bangladesh. It is interesting that Nobel prizes are involved in both.
- rayiner 10mo agoI’m not saying the U.S. overtly toppled Bangladesh’s government. I’m agreeing with the part about “be careful what you wish for.” What follows a revolution is usually worse.
- sigwinch 10mo agoAh, this we agree on. I see revolutions as a net negative and it’s often an early propaganda point to frame it otherwise.
