This is just disingenuous. He didn't tell anybody to do nothing. Some assistant made up a list of prohibited items and RPi ended up there because whatever. This kind of reporting is distracting and takes away from the actual issue. Also, what is the issue anyway? There's a public event unrelated to computing and you're not allowed to bring your RPi. Get on with your life? I'd be more interested in knowing how much the mayor spent on his new array of Flock cameras to greet people at the event.
