Patents for a cause?

Maybe there would be a market for a site that lets people propose and vote on features that should get into electronic devices. Engineers and developers could then collaborate to document and implement those technologies. These creations would be then patented and licensed on a FRAND basis and royalties would be given to charitable causes.
