I'm no expert on data structures or algorithms but couldn't you just simply use bloom filters?
- finnw 14y agoI don't think a bloom filter would be very useful for a spell checker. Bloom filters reduce disk reads when the majority of keys searched for are not in the dictionary. But in the context of a word processor, the majority of words tend to be spelled correctly, so very few would be rejected by the filter.
