ZapDrive.com! You get 100 GB for just $19.99/year. Upgrade upto 10 TB at the same rate. (200 GB for 39.99/year and so on...). And, unlike Dropbox, you don't have to save everything on your computer, cuz ZapDrive behaves like a network drive.
- zapdrive 14y agoDisclaimer: I work for ZapDrive, and we just launched yesterday!
- gls2ro 14y agoThere is an error on Signup on Safari (OS X 10.7): - first time entered a password less then 8 chars - pressed signup - errors appeared - now the signup button has a layout like being pressed and it is disabled
- zapdrive 14y agoCould not reproduce the bug on Safari OS X 10.6.8, the button becomes enabled as soon as the error message is displayed. Will test on OS X 10.7.
- countessa 14y agohaven't had a good look through your site yet, I've been looking at backblaze, but zapdrive lookis interesting....is the drive connected over SSL or do you have a different encryption thing going on?
- zapdrive 14y agoWe use SSL. As you might have noticed, we don't have any software that needs to be installed to use our service. We use the operating systems inbuilt 'Drive Mapping' feature, and all the communication is done over SSL. Also, we are different from BackBlaze in the sense, ZapDrive appears as a different drive on your computer, so you don't need to save the same data on your hard drive. The downside is, you have to be connected to the Internet to access your files in ZapDrive.
- gls2ro 14y agoI'm interested in two things: 1. Is the connection to Zap Drive encrypted? 2. How are the Public Folders working? (cannot find any details more in the docs)
- zapdrive 14y agoYes, the connection is encrypted through SSL. You can make any folder public, by right clicking on it and selecting "Get Public Link". You will get a link that you can share with anyone.
