there are people saying devs were naive not seeing that our jobs would accelerate automation to the point we would be retired too

- agumonkey 10mo agoMaybe we should organize a way to take llm inference out of private companies partly.. a kind of social protocol where they can play but as long as enough of the population is unharmed.
- SecretDreams 10mo agoI actually feel like this for social media and other big tech things too. These mega corps should be forced to have to offer stripped down free versions w/ no strings attached and privacy if they're also offering commercial versions that benefit directly from internet infrastructure they haven't paid for and targeted ads/data theft that nobody can decline. A bit like fedora and redhat.
