I've been doing a lot of thinking about onboarding lately, so this is really pertinent. The last step in your onboarding is particularly interesting, as you're giving users the option to choose how to proceed after signing up. What made you choose the particular options you did?

It's really a first step. One of the models we really like is HelloFax's Getting Started page, which does a great job introducing people to the site and encouraging them to share. Putting unfilled progress bars in front of people does wonders.
