- michaelkscott 14y agoActually, you can't login any of the Stack Exchange websites with a username and password. The only options are OpenID and an email-based StackExchange login. And the username can be changed any time, so anyone can change their username (which is effectively a "display name") to 'rm -rf' at any time if they want to, IIRC.
- kmontrose 14y agoTechnical our email-based login is also OpenID; https://openid.stackexchange.com/ https://openid.stackexchange.com/ , we just hide the details. And even more nitpicking-ly, our Facebook login is OAuth 2; not OpenID. But yeah, there's no relation between user display names and their logins.

- icebraining 14y agoMaybe he's a Zsh user? $ cd / $ rm -rf * zsh: sure you want to delete all the files in / [yn]?
- qu4z-2 14y agoSo zsh doesn't know what -f means? Having said that, it'd be nice if there were an inbetween flag. "Yes, delete .git dirs >:|"
