This whole CSS vs. HTML-Tables discussion is ridiculous. It is not either/or. There are some specific cases where Tables are superior over CSS, but many things can be done with CSS which is impossible to achieve with tables.
This article explanin the concrete cases where you should use tables: http://olav.dk/articles/tables.html http://olav.dk/articles/tables.html
The submission shows some examples where tables are needed. However, one could easily show other layouts where HTML-tables would be useless and CSS is necessary. Any serious web developer need to know the limitations of both tools.
BTW. the submission also contains some major misunderstandings:
> when it comes to layout, the design of CSS is fundamentally flawed. Use tables instead
This is blaming the shortcomings of Internet Explorer on the design of CSS. The CSS spec supports exactly the same layout model as HTML-tables, it's just that IE doesnt support this CSS feature.
