- striking 11mo agoFrom Bloomberg: > Earnings began to decline since 2021 due to supply chain headwinds and increased competition. I know that there's a slight difference between Chinese-state owned enterprises and Amazon, but isn't a sale to either one worrying?
- avalys 11mo agoIn what sense is a sale to Amazon “worrying” compared to bankruptcy?
- johnnyanmac 11mo agoYears of layoffs after swearing to not so layoffs that shells out the assets and then leaves a carcass in 2025 instead of a corpse. China might at least make some products out of this purchase. Most of these US companies would just sit on it.

- amanaplanacanal 11mo agoI believe it was the EU rather than the FTC which killed the deal.
- xnx 11mo agoI would assume the US market was a bigger concern, but hard to know for sure: https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/news/press-releases/2024/01/statement-regarding-termination-amazons-proposed-acquisition-irobot https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/news/press-releases/2024/01/...
- amanaplanacanal 11mo agoIRobot says it was the EU: https://media.irobot.com/2024-01-29-Amazon-and-iRobot-agree-to-terminate-pending-acquisition https://media.irobot.com/2024-01-29-Amazon-and-iRobot-agree-...
- xnx 11mo agoWrong link? I don't see how that applies to the EU more than the US.
- amanaplanacanal 11mo agoRead the italicized paragraph at the very beginning of the article.
- xnx 11mo agoDoh! Thank you.
