Unlike what the author has experienced, I haven't seen any universal hatred for typescript. Most opinions have been balanced and recognize it is the first iteration of the language. Especially from people who actually work with Javascript. Interestingly, the .Net/MS community seems to be far less open to typescript. Perhaps that is where the author is coming from.
