- viccis 10mo agoIn the same way literally is defined as "not literally", yes. Dictionaries are descriptive and capture colloquial usage, but "factoid" is a recently defined word with a specific definition that can be traced to a specific book. The alternative definition in the dictionary is simply recording common misuse.
