Because clearly these banks made the government take on more debt!!! Be a little more careful when it comes to agency. It makes a big difference. Also, with the level of regulation that banks have, they are not really private entities any-more and after the round of share buying done by the US govt., they are effectively public utilities, something that I think is going to haunt us a few years down the road.
