It's not for lack of google. This is poor young men being willfully naive hoping for a chance to support family and self. They seem perfectly deserving of sympathy.

These poor young Estonians are being willfully naive, they just want to support their family, so they joined the 20th SS division. Do you think that they got any sympathy from allies?
- evanjrowley 10mo agoNot sure about Estonian, but this is a discussion about the Russia-Ukraine war, so please stay focused. The Ukrainian SS division got plenty of sympathy from non-USSR allies post-WW2. We can see their symbols proudly on display today in Ukraine's Azov brigade. Here you are displaying your sympathy for this legacy. I recommend looking past the labels and extending sympathy to all humans trapped in this conflict.
- general1465 10mo agoEstonian SS division was not drafted, but voluntary. Kenyans are voluntarily going to Russia while knowing full well that they will end up on frontlines. No sympathy is needed, Kenyans know what they are signing up to.
- evanjrowley 10mo agoThe Ukranian SS division began voluntarily. Why would a forcibly drafted unit continue to be immortalized today by Ukraine's Azov? Look up Dmytro Paliiv and why a street there was named after him - as recently as 2017. It seems the world is not as black-and-white as you want it to be. Sympathies should be shifted from irresponsible leaders and over to people who are trapped in this unfortunate war. Kenyans included.
