"How can democracy function if 84% [NJ] believe elected officials are corrupt?"
- rolph 10mo agoive always wondered how democracy functions for so long when you cant unelect officials that are tacitly corrupt.
- 1718627440 10mo agoEveryone is by default "unelected" after a legislation period and you need to reelect them if they should stay elected. So you could, your fellow citizens just don't have the same opinion as you.
- FrankWilhoit 10mo ago1. It can't. 2. It never has. 3. It's not supposed to.
- peacebeard 10mo agoPer the article: > Kim cited a 2023 survey of New Jersey voters where 84 percent agreed that state politicians are at least “a little” corrupt The options in the survey were: * Not at all corrupt * A little corrupt * Somewhat corrupt * Very corrupt * Not Sure/Don’t Know [Vol] * Refused [Vol] Honestly I don't find that particularly damning. Nobody's perfect.
