- j-bos 10mo agoI worked with what are effectively 996ers in software, they largely drag on projects because they value neither their own time nor anyone else's.
- DrPimienta 10mo agoThis is my experience as well. For a lot of these people, it's performative. Just kind of existing at work for 12 hours is "getting work done" to them, despite the fact it's life destroying for pretty much everyone that has an actual life to live. It's really disgusting and harms most people.
- johnnyanmac 10mo agoLabor laws in California make infeasible (for good reason). The kinds of jobs going into 996 won't pay enough for exempt status, so that's 32 hours of overtime a week.
- stuckinhell 10mo agoyou are 100% right. I know people don't want to hear this . . . but at my mega large corp, we recently laid off hundreds people who basically didn't do this.
