Ask HN: Is there a HN but more business/startup oriented?
I really like reading HN, but I find that there's not quite enough startup, founder, and business content being posted as I would like.
When I check back on HN posts from a decade ago, there appears to have been more emphasis on those sorts of topics than there is now. Where did that go? Where do folks go for business related posts?
- bigyabai 10mo agoDo you speak any Mandarin?
- SilverElfin 10mo agoThere are Mandarin only HN like sites?
- fragmede 10mo agoThere's http://v2ex.com http://v2ex.com, but, like HN, it does not focus on the American startup scene at all. edit: tbc, it is a Chinese site for Chinese users in China to discuss tech and dev jobs and sometimes startup stuff. Crypto of course makes an appearance occasionally but I haven't tracked the site's attitude towards that as of late. Basically think of it as Chinese Reddit + HN.
- toomuchtodo 10mo agoChrome does a pretty good job translating that site to english on the fly fwiw.
- SilverElfin 10mo agoInteresting. Is the idea to have a community to invest in each other or jumpstart an ecosystem in China? Or is this meant for non native English speakers in the US? I wonder if other nationalities have their own equivalents.
- fragmede 10mo agoI edited my post to be more explicit; it was started in 2010 by a Chinese indie dev (in China) and grew/evolved from there. Its target audience is mainly devs in China.
- billy99k 10mo agoHN was supposed to be startup, founder, and business content. Now it's mostly big tech engineers that aren't interested in any of this.
- arresin 10mo agoI also want this. The top 10 pages on HN are now really niche nerd topics. Even as recently as last year it wasn’t as bad as this.
