Joke aside, I do think think someone should work on a legitimate agent for financial and business decision, management, and so on.
Especially "decision making". I find it's one of the things that are tricky, making the AI agent optimize for actually good decisions and not just give you info or options, but create real opinion and take real decisions.
- callamdelaney 11mo agoUnfortunately LLM's aren't good at making decisions.
- bofadeez 11mo agoI know they're supposed to be smarter than a year ago but you could have fooled me I'm in a loop with Opus 4.5 telling it "be logically consistent" and then it says "you're absolutely right" and proceeded to be logically inconsistent again for the 20th time.
- callamdelaney 11mo agoRespectfully ‘be logically consistent’ is not something that a llm would understand on the basis of the fact that it isn’t logical and literally unable to reason in the first place. It’s dumb.
- tbrownaw 11mo agoSo instead of doing that, give it access to use something that's better at that?
- callamdelaney 11mo agoSo then what on earth is the point of it?
- thisisit 11mo agoWhat kind of financial and business decisions? And what will be the metric for “good decision”?
- yawnxyz 11mo agoDo we even ask these questions for existing analysts? If anything, we should be evaluating them neck to neck.
- thisisit 11mo agoWithout knowing what is “good decision” how do you even evaluate neck to neck? At this point "Humans are also imperfect" is becoming a lazy defense. It is equivalent to crypto bros saying "humans are corrupt. Blockchain FTW!". Remind me where we are with that? Replace your imperfect analyst with a equally imperfect, if not worse, and maybe black box system is not the winning sales message you seem to think it is.
