- hilbert42 11mo agoOh hell, I knew David and even worked with him for a time. It's quite a shock to read of his death on HN.
- lvl155 11mo agoTekserve in the 90s was a special place.
- Rendello 11mo agoThe article mentions a recent novel set in his store. It seems well regarded and well-read on Goodreads for such a niche! https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/56269270-laserwriter-ii https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/56269270-laserwriter-ii
- hipsterstal1n 11mo agoRIP. I still have a few Tekserve totes around - one of the many awesome quirks of the store. They were great pre-Apple Store for repairs and purchases - make an appointment, describe your problem, bring your device in, and get it repaired some-what quickly and at not a terrible price. It wasn't as cheap as Applecare repairs, but it fixed your expensive fancy computer.
