- BitsAndObjects 11mo agoKind of reminds me of the idea of a “nursery generation” from generational garbage collection. The pre-cache is kind of a “nursery cache”, which expects a proportion of fetched lines to “die young” - ie get squashed before anything promotes them into the main cache.
