What GNU software is actually being removed from any distro?
- Max_Limelihood 11mo agoUbuntu replaced their core userland utils with uutils, so the bulk of it. I’m guessing most other distros will follow suit.
- pxc 11mo agoHuh. I didn't know Ubuntu had replaced GNU coreutils. I'm not sure that alone counts as "the bulk of it", but it's definitely very significant.
- surajrmal 11mo agopipewire, systemd, Wayland, etc. none of that is produced or maintained by GNU.
- pxc 11mo agoALSA, sysvinit, and Xorg weren't GNU projects, either.
