why would old code be worth less? to me its a great achievement for a codebase to maintain stability and usability over a long timespan. if you venture even five feet into the world of enterprise software (particularly at non tech companies) you will discover that fifteen years isnt a very long time. when you spend many millions on a core system that is critical to your business you want it to continue working for many, many years.
