  Just to avoid split discussions! I know it can be annoying when 'your' thread gets merged into the other one and thus you 'lose' - it's still on the list to extend the software to aggregate multiple submissions better. But it does even out in the long run if an account keeps submitting good articles to HN, which your account certainly does (and we appreciate it!)
