Did it ever occur to her that he wanted a child with his wife? That he loved his wife - even though not romantically? And still had a happy life as a father of her? The author seems to have many misconceptions about gay people..
- pcthrowaway 11mo agoThe author mentions in the follow-up that she is gay herself.
- astura 11mo agoShe also mentioned it in TFA too.
- moralestapia 11mo agoOf course!
- James_K 11mo agoIt does not sound as such if you read the content of the post. It's hardly a misconception to suggest that gay men do not generally fall in love with women.
- chimeracoder 11mo ago> It does not sound as such if you read the content of the post. It's hardly a misconception to suggest that gay men do not generally fall in love with women. Aside from the fact that this premise is incorrect, it's also inapplicable, because, as far as the essay mentions, the father never said he was gay.
- James_K 11mo agoHow do you know the father never said he was gay? He may well have said that to the man he enjoyed dating as opposed to the wife whom he clearly didn't like very much.
- chimeracoder 11mo ago> How do you know the father never said he was gay? I don't, which is why I didn't say that. I said: > as far as the essay mentions, the father never said he was gay.
- James_K 11mo agoThe essay mentions the father being gay, reasonable to assume he said it. Unless you think he was bisexual, but I'm willing to bet you don't actually think that and this is just you being silly and you do actually think he's gay.
