Context: Some former-military members of Congress put out a video reminding service members that their oath is to the constitution, and that the are required to refuse illegal orders. That triggers Trump to accuse them of sedition, and to call them traitors, and to re-post someone else's call to execute them.

  It's already been mentioned, but I'm going to echo it because this is misinformation. He did not re-post someone else's call to execute them. He was the original author of the post.

Having served in the US Armed Forces, I can tell you this was drilled into our heads from day 1 at boot camp: you do not serve the president, you do not serve congress, heck, you don't even serve the republic! You serve the constitution. They also go over you're not to follow an unlawful order. They provide tools for recognizing an unlawful order and what to do should you suspect an order to be unlawful. As you can imagine, none of it involves sounding off to your superior officer and giving them your piece of mind. Order, discipline, and respect must be maintained, even if you believe the order to be unlawful. The fact Trump appears to know none of this is deeply concerning. His call for the arrest and execution of those affirming these truths leaves no doubt: Trump is unfit to serve as Commander in Chief.

  I mean, I’m not sure why you’d expect him to know it. He seems to have only the vaguest idea of how anything else works, and so far is largely being let away with that by the courts.

  In 1989, he took out a full page spread in the 4 NY newspapers titled "BRING BACK THE DEATH PENALTY. BRING BACK OUR POLICE!" calling for punitive retribution against 5 innocent brown young men without evidence. That's because he's always been a classist, racist, slumlord, bully trustfunder who was never told "no" and a nonzero slice of Americans proudly cheer it on.
