Not enough. I am not putting any hardware on my nose if I can't fully control the software running on it. Is the OS open source?

  This is pretty low level access. The phone you are going to pair it with and is providing network access is definitely more closed than this.

    It is bad that phones are closed. But, at least they aren’t stuck to our faces and able to observe our every move.
