False. TARP has been paid back, at a small profit, to the FED, which returns the money to Treasury. The auto companies are a black hole of subsidies, but that's another story.
- apu 14y agoWhat about TARP's big brother, TALF (at least $1 trillion)? We don't even know where most of the money has been spent. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TALF http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TALF "The way TALF loans were set up, 100 percent of any profit is retained by the borrower, but the Fed and the Treasury absorb any losses."
