I assume this doesn't allow cars to make a right turn during a red light. That, and the long path for cyclists to make a left turn are probably what would make a lot of people in the US resist this design. (I think it looks like a good idea, however.)

    Yep, that's one and the same. Thanks! I think those are the best solution for intersections with semaphore lights. Stop signs might require something else.
