"Unless one argues that no encyclopedia should even record what unreliable but prominent sources are saying" Um, yes, absolutely, an encyclopedia should not *cite* tabloids in its articles, since any idiot with a bit of cash can publish garbage about anything. There's a reason why Wikipedia is so anal about the reputability of its sources. A reputable article would say something like "InfoWars and other fringe publications have spread conspiracy theories on this topic" and then cite actual news publications reporting on the matter.
