Ford CEO shocked taking apart Tesla and Chinese EVs
- barbazoo 1y ago> I was very humbled when we took apart the first Model 3 Tesla and started to take apart the Chinese vehicles. When we took them apart, it was shocking what we found I couldn't really figure out what it was that he allegedly found when he took the cars apart.
- quantified 1y ago> The Detroit executive said Ford's Mustang Mach-E had around 1.6km more electrical wiring than the Tesla, adding extra weight to the car and requiring a much bigger and more expensive battery No other deets. Ford is focused on fossil SUVs so it's hardly surprising EV makers are better at EVs.
- baranul 1y agoIt has long been very obvious that the EV market was only going to grow. They have no one to blame, but themselves, to be stuck watching China become dominate. And they still have a long way to catch up, because the EV charging station network is a disgrace.
- aerostable_slug 1y agoGM and Ford have had recent layoffs and production pauses because EV uptake has been slower than projected.

- baranul 1y agoThat's not the case globally[1]. And there is a lot of oil money causing confusion. But, regardless of what the true situation is, continually burning fossil fuels with reckless abandon, is not the way forward for humanity.
