Should this become commonplace in the future, we'll have to have a way for either everyone own a 3d printer, or for people to easily be able to find a 3d printer.
Incidentally, I'm working on something that does this and more. Details coming over the next few months.
- ryanhuff 14y agoIf this does become commonplace, I think the likely outcome is that we see a Kinkos of 3d printing emerge.
- zaaaaz 14y agoMy exact thoughts. Wouldn't be surprised if Kinkos themselves (FedEx Office, now) pushes into the field. And that we possibly start seeing CVS/Walgreens 1-hour photo-style printing services as well.
- tibbon 14y agoThat is a distinct possibility. Gives a new meaning to "General Store" if they can print anything.
- mhb 14y agoAnd maybe they can call it Shapeways.

- zaaaaz 14y agoMaybe Shapeways can open kiosks in mall parking lots. I'd use that service.
