I wonder how these gate agents will react if I show their app throwing a hissy fit and refusing to work when it is blocked from any data mining. No permissions, no google play services, no safetynet, maybe no network. It is non cooperation with their bs, but it looks like a technical issue. And, if it can work without such things, then I hate it much less.
- galaxy_gas 11mo agoWhen you do this they charge you the human assist fee and boarding pass fee or you don't board.
- john01dav 11mo agoI'd probably pay the fee, take my flight, then charge it back with a reason like "Fee for not using app, app did not work. Fee advertised as optional was not, in fact, optional for me". Completely true statement.
- criddell 11mo agoYou would win but then Ryanair would ban you from flying with them in the future.
- neximo64 11mo agoProbably thats the goal, so there is a way to charge a fee. Do you not know Ryanair
- ponector 11mo agoWhy should they care? Without presenting a boarding pass you can't even approach the gates, cannot pass security check. And you cannot get a boarding pass without an app.
- subscribed 11mo agoI just installed it on a fresh profile in GrapheneOS. Blocked from any access except network, and it didn't even try to check Play Integrity API. Works okay. Didn't have a chance to check in/display boarding pass, but I could access all the details of my flight no problem.
- extraduder_ire 11mo agoThank you for checking that. Last time I used it, I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't use android's screenshot prevention to stop you making a copy of the boarding pass. I took a screenshot as a backup in case I had issues with the app.
