I feel similarly... I spent about a year with Budgie and really liked it... I had it mostly tweaked to my liking. In the end, I felt better just going back with Pop and keeping it close to defaults. I don't really tweak my mac or windows settings that much either. In the end, I just want a pretty solid foundation to get work done.
