Foxmarks (Mitch Kapor's startup) adds suggested tags to Firefox bookmark sync
- anuraggoel 18y agoThis brings Foxmarks closer to delicious, which is a direct competitor. Mitch Kapor talks about Foxmarks vs. Delicious here: http://blog.kapor.com/?p=28 http://blog.kapor.com/?p=28
- nir 18y agoWould be cool to have an API for this (just send it a URL and get back a list of tags)
- nir 18y agoActually I just realized it's pretty easy to do with delicious right now... #!/usr/bin/env ruby require 'open-uri' require 'digest/md5' url = 'http://love2d.org/' http://love2d.org/' del_url = "http://delicious.com/url/ http://delicious.com/url/" + Digest::MD5.hexdigest(url) html = open(del_url).read tags = html.scan(/<span class="m">(.*)<em>/) puts tags
- pclark 18y agoI've made this for my startup. We look at a ton of sources. Delicious, Magnolia (RIP), Technorati + about 5 more. It gives you a very good list of tags. Would people be interested in me turning this into an API?
- nir 18y agoI would...
