It has purpose but its difficult to avoid using it as a crutch and if misused, the user becomes weaker or is a weak individual performing with a crutch. One computer language I developed with books and time I know really well. A recent computer language I used chatGPT and while my SW engineering skills are fine and I developed several projects, my skills of the language is little. Ok, but I am a senior person and have substantial cognitive skills to develop something. But take a lower level person, in the career development cycle: they need to be careful to not fall into a trap of relying on these tools and not develop their skills. They risk always being superficial employees and low value contributors.
