Did Microsoft commission the study?
- barista 14y agoMust be. Because anything Microsoft does better especially in the areas of security must be flawed or propaganda </sarcasm>
- Mythbusters 14y agoThis HN. What did you expect?
- drhowarddrfine 14y agoIt is funded by Microsoft and Microsoft frequently used NSS in the past when they need a positive report.
- capo 14y agoIt's a legitimate question; same actor released MSFT sponsored studies before: http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2009/08/microsoft-sponsors-two-nss-reports-ie8-is-the-most-secure/ http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2009/08/micros...
- mtgx 14y agoWell I remember when Chrome's security was broken for the first and only time, by a research firm. And guess who paid for that to happen? Microsoft. So let me repeat that. Microsoft paid a company to break Chrome's security.
- Torrents 14y agoFirst and only known time?
- krichman 14y agoYes, that's correct, because most of us subscribe to Bayesianism.
- justinschuh 14y agoIt's hard to say. Microsoft paid directly for these "studies" in the past, and eventually people started ignoring them. So, now NSS simply doesn't disclose who pays for them.
