Part of the problem is that ACA made catastrophic insurance illegal, because all insurance had to have lots of minimum coverage. I don't want insurance to provide one free checkup per year, I want to pay for normal stuff normally, and not have to pay the insurance company's expenses + profit margin on normal stuff just to have the unlikely stuff covered.
