I would like to say no, but I do feel the same kind of dopamine hit from checking HN as I do other sites, and that makes me uncomfortable.
- SoftTalker 11mo agoI don't have my login cached on my phone, plus HN isn't really great on mobile, so that helps a lot. I do find myself spending too much time on it on desktop.
- neilellis 11mo agoBut the toxicity levels I find to be lower - definitely not zero, but much lower than the actual social media where the toxic content is actively prioritised.
- collinmcnulty 11mo agoAgreed, and that lower toxicity combined with the limited amount of content is what has kept me from trying to leave. It’s the nicotine patch of social media.
