- jnaina 11mo agoAhh, the infamous Asian Poverty Porn sought by Western Tourists is a phenomenon that manifests as a kind of voyeuristic tourism where Western visitors seek out places of visible hardship like slums, rural poverty, or “authentic” deprivation, under the guise of cultural exploration, humanitarian awareness, or “off-the-beaten-path” adventure.

- hcnova10 11mo agoWhat they mean is that they prefer to live in the suburbs. Not only do they hate slums but they also hate the sight of old worn-down buildings which are pretty common in Asia.
