Ilya Sustkever's deposition reveals previously unknown details [pdf]
- nibab 11mo agoLooks like Mira/Brad Lightcap were under the impression tha gdb was essentially fired from Stripe. Also, interestingly, Ilya seems not to know who is paying his legal bills?!
- blazespin 11mo agoThat was funny. Weird the pdf is missing all those pages. You'd think they'd just redact.
- mrandish 11mo ago> You'd think they'd just redact. Maybe that's driven by the long and embarrassing track record of lawyers, court clerks and admins somehow failing to properly redact text from PDFs again and again (eg only covering text with black boxes while leaving the text metadata intact). This despite it now being an infamous recurring mistake in a common yet crucial part of their jobs.
- Maxious 11mo agoOn PDF page 38 > Anthropic reached out to Helen [...] with a proposal to be merged with OpenAI and take over its leadership. > Q. When was that? > A. On Saturday. > Q. Saturday, November 18th? I don't think that's been publicly hinted at before?
- rubenvanwyk 11mo agoHard to follow along; is there a TLDR from someone actively following the case of key things not disclosed before this point? Also didn’t realise people and especially HN read legal documents like this in their free time?

- terryds 11mo ago"And you sent it using a form of a disappearing email; is that right?" "yes" I wonder what they mean by "disappearing email". I thought it's not technically possible to send disappearing email.
- HPMOR 11mo agoAbsolutely unreal, Ilya should be head of state.
